Elena is a conscious, patient listener and takes time to carefully consider before responding or offering her opinion. Whole Healing Coaching Philosophy

Healing is a process of discovery and transformation - mind, body and soul. It is reconnecting to the essence of who we really are and allowing it to guide us towards creating what we really want.

It's about learning to stand fully in our own power, joy and genius so we can live satisfying and authentic lives. It's about becoming whole again and releasing the pain we've been holding - both physical and emotional - so that we can let our energy, vitality, love and creativity flow. It's about creating loving and nourishing relationships, both with ourselves and others, that sustain and empower us. AND - it's about having fun while doing it!

Through the Somatic Life Coach sessions Elena has taught me to connect into my body and restore flow and essence. With her guidance I know more about myself and am much more aware of the sensations in my body. I've learned to use my body as a guide as opposed to using cultural pressures as a guide. I'm now making decisions from my true self rather than my persona.  

I've been able to instantly calm myself down during stressful situations. No longer am I getting stuck in the stress mode of fight, flight or freeze. With simple techniques I can now release tension and shake it off just as naturally as children and animals do. My relationships with my loved ones have improved through learning to direct my attention and positive energy.

Our Unique Coaching Method

The Whole Healing Coaching Method is a unique combination of the teachings of John F. Barnes, PT, LMT, the Hendricks Institute for Conscious Living and the Strozzi Institute of somatic coaching. Other significant influences include trauma therapy and research, martial arts based mind-body practices, meditation, visualization techniques and dreamwork.


Coaching sessions are completely individualized and tailored to each person's needs in the moment. We always focus on the tools and techniques that are best suited for you and your unique journey, so not all techniques are used for each client. Your session will be as unique as you are!

Somatic Life Coaching and Myofascial Coaching

How is Whole Healing Life Coaching different from other types of coaching, bodywork and psychotherapy?

Most traditional forms of psychotherapy and life coaching work from the "mind down" - you do the work in your head in order to change the way you live and experience life. While this type of therapy can be helpful for many things, it often leaves people with a feeling that something is unfinished or unaddressed. Sometimes people have a deep, residual feeling that whatever the issue is, it's still stuck in their body. This is especially true for people who experience chronic pain, anxiety or tend to "check out" in response to stress or trauma.

This is because traditional "mind-down" therapies don't access the full wisdom of the soma. Soma simply means body in Greek. In the world of somatic coaching, soma refers to the entirety of your mind, body, spirit and being - it's what makes you YOU and is inseparable from your essence. Even traditional bodywork like massage only addresses the physical body, not the whole mind-body-spirit that is our soma.

Whole Healing Life Coaching is a type of somatic coaching that works from the "body up" to create lasting mind-body-spirit transformation. Our soma contains vast amounts of information and wisdom that can reliably guide us in life. The more aware we are of our soma and the messages it's sending us, the more able we are to stay balanced, grounded and responsive in the face of life's challenges. We develop a calm, inner resourcefulness that helps us make better decisions, unleash our creativity, welcome love and joy, and form healthy, nourishing relationships.


Whole Healing Life Coaching works with the full spectrum of the human being and directly addresses the way the mind and body support and reinforce each other, thereby facilitating the healing of both. Self awareness grows in quantum leaps when we work with the wisdom of the soma and healing can be rapid and deeply transformational. And Whole Healing Coaching methods are simple, easy and fun to learn!

What Whole Healing Coaching is NOT...

Whole Healing Coaching is not physical therapy or a collection of prescribed exercises. 

Myofascial coaching teaches you the principles of myofascial release you can use at home to help manage pain and tension and let your essence flow. Myofascial coaching shows you how to feel into your body and deepen your own exercise, stretching or spiritual practice to make it more enjoyable and transformative. 
Whole Healing Coaching is not psychotherapy or a replacement for mental health counseling. 

 If you require mental health counseling or have a chronic or acute mental health disorder, Whole Healing Coaching can be used in addition to mental health counseling to help you with pain, tension and emotional issues. In this way it can be very helpful and effective, but Whole Healing Coaching does not diagnose or treat any mental illness.
